Fireballs Win The U16 National Cup and Shooting Stars are Runners-Up
The U16 Farnham Fireballs played 7 intense matches in one day, remaining unbeaten and earning a place in the final against Hawick Hawks from Scotland who they beat 3-1 in a drammatic final. The Shooting Stars, won almost all of their matches in the run up to the final even beating their arch rivals, Meon Hounds, 1-0 in the process. However in the final, they met the the Hounds again and the Cotswold team kept the upper hand throughout the match with the Farnham Shooting Stars finishing as Runners-Up with a 7-5 scoreline. Eben Dring won the prize for highest goal scorer of any U13 or U16 team, with 17 goals during the day! There are more pics on Facebook.
Rowledge Primary School put on a great show with slick passing in their first ever National Cup competition to finish 6th. They promised to return next year after a very enjoyable day played in a friendly, competitive atmosphere.
The Farnham Fireballs were wearing their first new kit for 10 years, which was solely paid for by generous Farnham small businesses who sponsored the specially designed strip. Many thanks to our sponsors: Convergence ICT, Durham House Chiropractic Clinic, Surrey Translation Bureau, Wrights Garden Services, Haus Maids and Optimus Painting & Decorating.

New Floorball Club Opens in Basingstoke
The first ever training session for a new youth floorball club takes place this Friday in July in Basingstoke! The new North Hampshire floorball club will be run by the Rixon family who helped us win both National Cups.
The sessions are suitable for anyone in school years 7 to 10 and take place at the Costello School Sports hall (Crossborough Hill, Basingstoke RG21 4AL) from 6pm to 7pm each Friday. The first session is free and all equipment is provided, no need to book, just turn up. The club is hoping to enter the youth league next season but for the first few weeks we would like as many Farnham players to come along so that we can play matches and any new recruits from Basingstoke itself will enjoy the sessions and keep coming back. After a few weeks they should have enough of their own.
Fireballs & Shooting Stars Win The National Cups
For the first time ever, both of Farnham’s youth floorball teams have brought home every team trophy available, after the Shooting Stars U13s and the Farnham Fireballs U16 teams each won their respective competitions at the National Youth Floorball Cup in Cheltenham on 18th June. The Fireballs beat Hawick from Scotland and the Shootings Stars beat IPSE. 55 matches were played by all teams during the day and 279 goals were scored but both teams remained unbeaten during the day. The full set of photos can be found on the UKFF website and some video on the Southern Vipers Youtube channel.
Fireballs & Shooting Stars Win Their Leagues
There's a New Team in Town
Encouraged by the success of the existing Southern Vipers team in the adult South East League, a new team has just been created by the SV Floorball Club. Southern Venom will be made up of teenage players and veterans and is going to join the brand new SEL Division 2. The UK Floorball Federation has created the new division of the league to accommodate the increasing number of teams in the area and to help bridge the speed and skills gap between youth and full adult floorball.
FUFC starts training again at Farnham Leisure Centre on Saturday 7th Jan.

We Need Your Help to Make Floorball Take Off in the UK
Although floorball as a sport is officially recognised by Sport England, our national federation is not, so Sport England can't support or promote the sport yet. Therefore we are asking everyone who plays floorball to register with the UKFF asap so that we can reach Sport England's minimum membership number. Then we can start the process of getting the UKFF officially recognised! UKFF membership is free and very quick, just click here. If you have not played in a league then please state your team as 'NNL' meaning a non-league player or coach.
Results of First 2015/6 League Fixture
Sunday 11th October was the first fixture in the TCL youth floorball league season. 76 players took part in matches at Moreton Fire College on a large rink. In the U16 boys/U17 girls category, the Arrows seemed to be dominating with a largely unchanged team from last season whilst almost all other clubs have suffered from their best players moving up into older age categories. The U13 league saw a major battle between IPSE and Farnham Shooting Stars for top slot with each beating the other once. Top scorers for all leagues were Breyten Armstrong and Rory Goodman with 11 goals each. Photos are available on our photos page. The league moves to Godalming for a few fixtures this season to encourage new youth teams like Hastings, other youth teams are welcome to contact the committee on firstname.lastname@example.org about friendlies or joining the league.
Results of Farnham's First Ever Schools League
South Farnham and Holly Lodge finished in the top positions in the league section thus qualifying for the 1st/2nd place playoff on Friday 10th July. Holly Lodge took an early lead but eventually it was 3-3 with 10 seconds to go and SFS scored to take the first ever FPS league title presented by the Mayor of Farnham, Pat Frost. Walsh 1 beat St. Polycarps 6-1 to finish 3rd overall and Rowledge who actually finished bottom of the league section beat Walsh 2 by 5 goals to 1 to finish 5th. It is possible to download photos from our Photos page by clicking on a photo. The full league results are on the right of this page.
Farnham Shooting Stars are National Cup Winners
On 14th June 2015, Sunday over 170 youngsters from all over England and Scotland made their way to the Gloucester GL1 Centre to take part in the National Youth Floorball Cup competition. Farnham's Under-13 team, the Shooting Stars overcame the Rhinos in a thrilling final and were crowned British champions, the first time they have won it after 6 years of trying. The Rhinos included some international players who now live in the UK and so coach Julian Wenban decided to employ some special tactics for the final. He dedicated two of his top players to mark out one of the oppositions key goal scorer and, as has happened throughout the league season, the players loyally followed the game plan, sacrificing their own chances of being award top goal scorers for the team. The plan worked and the Shooting Stars triumphed, winning by 7 goals to 6 to take home the trophy.
In the Under-16 section FUFC entered two teams, a 'Yellow' development team and the 'Red' team. The Fireballs 'Red' team were competing against teams from as far away as Fife, Hawick and Hastings. After winning 5 and drawing 2 matches and playing some absolutely beautiful floorball they were awarded a place in the final of the U16 competition. Unfortunately some poor marking by the tired players allowed the long distance strikers from the Ilmington Arrows team to notch up 7 goals in the final but the Fireballs never gave up and pulled 3 goals back but were scoring too slowly to overcome the deficit by the end of the match.
The Yellow team enjoyed the day winning a few matches and finished 7th overall.
Charlie Wright was awarded Most Valuable player from Fireballs squad (man of the match is never awarded in this mixed sport) which should help him in his application to make floorball one of the sports comprising his PE GCSE.

What is Floorball?
Floorball is often described as being like icehockey just without the ice (and not as dangerous).
Do I need equipment?
In floorball all you need to play is a stick, if you don't have one of your own don't worry as at the training sessions you can borrow one of the club's sticks.
It is also wise to bring a bottle of water along with you as Floorball is an extremely quick sport and you can get very thirsty very quickly.
How much does it cost?
The first week is free but after that it costs £40 per school term or £5 per game. And there is an annual membership fee of £20 which only had to be paid after you've played for a few weeks.
Where Are We?
Both the Farnham Fireballs and the Shooting Stars play at Farnham Leisure Centre, Dogflud Way Farnham GU9 7UD. Farnham is a town in the county of Surrey, England.
